Task 1 · GreenClean® Acid Cleaner

Dose the room's batch tank with GreenClean Acid Cleaner (see ) and pump the solution through the irrigation drippers on the tables.

Hold it in the piping for 3 hours — until 11:00 AM. That sits at the top of the product label's recommended 2–3 hour dwell window for irrigation line cleaning.

Task 2 · Flush

11:00 AM

Run clean water through the drippers to flush the acid cleaner out of the lines.

Task 3 · SaniDate® 5.0

11:20 AM Hold overnight Label rec.: 4+ hrs, overnight preferred

Dose the batch tank with SaniDate 5.0 (see ) and pump it through the same drippers.

Hold it in the piping overnight — into Cleaning Day 2, about 20 hrs 40 min until the 8:00 AM flush. BioSafe's guidance calls for a minimum 4-hour dwell with overnight (12–24 hrs) preferred — this comfortably clears both.

Safety & PPE
Critical — never let these two products touch

GreenClean Acid Cleaner's own safety data sheet lists hydrogen peroxide as a material it reacts dangerously with. SaniDate 5.0 is a hydrogen-peroxide / peroxyacetic-acid product. Never combine concentrates, never dose both into a tank at once, and always run the full Task 2 water flush before starting Task 3. That flush is what keeps the two chemicals from ever meeting in the piping — it isn't a time-saving target.

SaniDate 5.0's label separately prohibits combining it with any other pesticide or fertilizer concentrate — treat every batch as a single-product event.

Required PPE

  • Chemical-splash goggles or face shield
  • Acid/oxidizer-resistant gloves — nitrile, neoprene, or rubber. Not leather or cotton.
  • Long sleeves and pants; closed-toe, slip-resistant footwear
  • Ventilate the room while dosing. Don't breathe mist, fumes, or spray from either product.
Where the flush water goes

Flush water runs out through the same table drippers used for dosing — make sure it drains through the room's floor drain and doesn't pool or run toward any adjacent room with live plants.

First aid (either product)

  • Eyes / skin: rinse with water for at least 15 minutes; remove contact lenses if present; take off contaminated clothing immediately.
  • Inhalation: move to fresh air, keep comfortable for breathing.
  • Ingestion: rinse mouth, do not induce vomiting.
  • Call Poison Control (1-800-222-1222) or a physician for any exposure. Keep the SDS for both products on hand.

Troubleshooting
SymptomWhat to do
Dripper flow weak or uneven after treatmentThe acid cleaner loosens scale/biofilm that can lodge in a dripper. Pull and clear the affected one before returning the room to service — don't force the pump against a partial blockage.
Not confident the acid is fully flushed at 11:00 AMKeep flushing before dosing SaniDate 5.0. A full flush matters more than the clock — see the safety warning in the Safety section.
Batch tank pump loses prime mid-taskStop, re-prime, and restart that task's hold time once the pump is confirmed running again.
